Governor Mutfwang Welcomes President Tinubu to Jos For APC Chairman’s Mother’s Funeral

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, on Saturday received President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Jos as the nation’s leader attended the funeral service of the late Mama Lydia Yilwatda, mother of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda.

The solemn service was held at the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Headquarters in Jos, drawing dignitaries from across the country.

In his address, President Tinubu emphasized the need for religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians. Using his own family as an example, he shared that he is a Muslim while his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is a Christian and a pastor—yet faith has never caused division in their home.

He described the late Mama Lydia as “a virtuous woman whose life reflected integrity, discipline, and deep devotion to her family and her faith,” urging Nigerians to emulate her values of love, unity, and selfless service.

Governor Mutfwang, alongside other political and religious leaders, expressed gratitude for the President’s presence, noting it as a mark of respect not only for the bereaved family but for the people of Plateau State
