Vice President Kashim Shettima is set to launch a new Learning and Empowerment Fund on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja. The initiative is targeted at Nigerian women, youth, and children.
The fund aims to unlock the potential of these groups by expanding access to education, skills development, financial inclusion, and economic opportunities. It is one of the key outcomes of the Africa Social Impact Summit (ASIS) 2026 High-Level Policy Engagement, which Nigeria is co-hosting.
The program is being convened by the Office of the Vice President in collaboration with partners such as the Sterling One Foundation, the United Nations System, and other ASIS collaborators.
At the same event, the Women and Youth Financial and Economic Inclusion (WYFEI) Nigeria platform will also be unveiled. The platform is designed to drive economic empowerment for women and youth through co-investment models, structured delivery, and strong performance accountability.
