Iyabo Ojo has issued a stern warning to actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, directing him to cease mentioning her children in public statements.
In a post shared on her Instagram page on Sunday, Iyabo Ojo made it clear that she would take legal action if her children continue to be referenced in Baba Ijesha’s narratives. She emphasized that her children were always properly cared for, either by nannies or her late mother, and were never left in unsafe situations.
She also spoke about her former business premises in Ilu-Peju, Lagos, noting that several staff members, including stylists, sales attendants, and trainees, were present, making it unlikely that she would leave her children unattended.
While affirming that Baba Ijesha is free to share his side of events, Iyabo Ojo insisted that her children must not be used to gain public sympathy or support. She stressed that the case involving a minor remains serious and highlighted that the court had already delivered a judgment based on evidence.
She wrote:
“Stop using my children as your cheap bait. It won’t fly. I honestly have no problem with you telling your side of the story, but take this as a notice to cease and desist from using my children. The 14-year-old girl was a minor, and sexual assault is never okay. It is a crime. You should show some remorse. The court found you guilty based on evidence, so please don’t drag my kids into this. Stop mentioning their names, else I would direct my counsel to serve you appropriate papers.”
Her statement follows an interview granted by Baba Ijesha, in which he recounted his past relationship with Iyabo Ojo and mentioned times he claimed she left her children in his care, including an incident at her Ilu-Peju shop where he said he was asked to look after the children briefly while she stepped out.
Iyabo Ojo’s warning makes it clear that any further reference to her children in Baba Ijesha’s public statements will not be tolerated.
