The President of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Rev. Dr. Job Ayuba Bagat Mallam, has strongly condemned the recent wave of killings in Plateau and Kaduna States, as well as the abduction of residents in Kwara State, describing the incidents as tragic and unacceptable.
In a press conference held at the ECWA Headquarters in Jos on April 2, 2026, the ECWA leader expressed deep sorrow over the attacks, particularly the killings in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, and the assault on wedding guests in Kahir village, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
He also decried the abduction of several persons in Ora-Ago community in Kwara State, noting that although three victims have regained freedom, seven others remain in captivity, with kidnappers reportedly demanding ransom from their families.
Mallam described the incidents as a “grievous assault on humanity,” insisting that the continued loss of innocent lives and rising cases of kidnapping must be treated as a national emergency.

He expressed solidarity with bereaved families, victims, and those still in captivity, while calling for intensified efforts to secure the safe release of abducted persons and provide relief to affected communities.
The ECWA President commended the efforts of Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, for their prompt responses to the crises but stressed that more decisive action is required to curb the escalating insecurity.
He further urged the Kwara State Government and security agencies to strengthen operations aimed at rescuing the remaining abductees and dismantling kidnapping networks.
Calling for a comprehensive overhaul of Nigeria’s security architecture, Mallam advocated for intelligence-driven strategies to address the growing threats of violent attacks and abductions across the country.
Among key recommendations, he called for the deployment of advanced surveillance systems in vulnerable communities, strengthened community policing, swift prosecution of perpetrators, and adequate support for victims and displaced persons.
He also appealed to Nigerians to remain united, vigilant, and committed to peaceful coexistence, stressing that security is a collective responsibility.
The ECWA President emphasized the need for dialogue, unity, and mutual respect among citizens, urging all stakeholders to work together to overcome the persistent security challenges confronting the nation.
He concluded with a call for both prayer and action, urging leaders to uphold justice and ensure the protection of lives and property across Nigeria.
