
The Benue State Government has deployed additional buses in response to the ongoing unrest in Jos to evacuate Benue students stranded in the city.
This was disclosed by the Manager of Benue Links Nigeria Limited, Comrade Alexander Fanafa.
He said the move follows directives from Governor Hyacinth Alia, who has prioritised the safety and welfare of Benue indigenes studying outside the state.
The evacuation is part of a phased operation, with over 30 buses already sent on Thursday and more dispatched to ensure a smooth, secure return for affected students.

Some students who have been evacuated expressed relief and gratitude, describing the intervention as timely and reassuring amid uncertainty caused by the unrest.
Comrade Fanafa said government officials are closely monitoring the operation to ensure all stranded students are safely brought home.
