Barely days after resigning from the All Progressives Congress (APC), former governorship aspirant, Sunday Garba Biggs, has officially joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and announced his intention to contest the Plateau State governorship seat.
Biggs made this known in a message to his supporters, confirming that he has been duly registered as a member of the PDP.
“Dear Compatriots, having been duly registered as a bonafide member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), today Monday 27th, I have the honour to invite you to the formal declaration of my intent to contest the Governorship seat for Plateau State,” he wrote.
He disclosed that the official declaration event is scheduled to take place at the PDP Secretariat in Mangu Local Government Area.
“The event is scheduled to hold at the LGA PDP Secretariat, Mangu, opposite People’s House on Wednesday 29th at 12:00 noon. Come and be part of history,” Biggs added.
The development signals a swift political transition for the former APC chieftain, who recently cited political realignments and personal convictions as reasons for leaving his former party.
Political observers say his defection to the PDP and immediate declaration of governorship ambition could reshape the political landscape in Plateau State ahead of future elections.
