The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed confidence that the ruling party will record a landslide victory in the 2027 general elections across Nigeria.
Prof. Yilwatda made the declaration on Saturday in Dungun, Kanke Local Government Area of Plateau State, shortly after casting his vote during the ongoing APC presidential primary election.
The APC National Chairman, who was accompanied by Simon Lalong, described the APC as the political party to beat ahead of the next general elections.
According to him, the massive turnout of party members and supporters during the exercise reflected the growing popularity and acceptance of the APC, particularly in rural communities.
“The massive turnout of people shows how the party has penetrated rural communities and villages. It also shows that the people believe in the APC and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.”
Prof. Yilwatda further stated that the APC had positioned itself as one of the largest political parties in Africa due to its growing support base across the country.
“For us, 2027 is a walkover; APC will record a landslide victory across Nigeria.”
The APC National Chairman also promised to reconcile aggrieved members of the party, especially aspirants who lost in the recent primaries, stressing that unity remained critical to the party’s success in 2027.
He explained that bringing members together after the primaries would further strengthen the APC and improve its chances of winning elections at all levels.
Speaking at the event, Senator Simon Lalong pledged his support to the National Chairman and assured party members of continued efforts toward ensuring victory for the APC in the forthcoming elections.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Kanke Local Government Area, Hon. Lapchin Golime, promised overwhelming support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Caleb Mutfwang during the 2027 general elections.
“We promise 99 per cent votes in Kanke for the president and our governor because we have seen and tested the real dividend of democracy in our communities,” he said.
