Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, Member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency, has declared that the controversy surrounding the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in the constituency should be considered over, calling on party members to embrace unity and collective progress.

In a message addressed to party leaders, supporters, and constituents, Gagdi expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and appreciated members of the APC across the 36 wards of the constituency for their support, peaceful conduct, and confidence in his leadership during the exercise.

“Your massive participation and peaceful conduct once again demonstrated the unity, political maturity, and strength of the APC,” he stated.

The lawmaker also commended the national leadership of the APC and members of the electoral committee for the successful conduct of the primary election, despite the controversies that trailed the process.

Gagdi acknowledged that there were attempts by some unauthorized persons to announce results outside the approved party process, but maintained that he and his supporters remained calm because they trusted the legitimacy of the process.

“While there were attempts by some unauthorized individuals who gathered and announced facts outside the legitimate process, we remained calm, focused, and confident because we knew we stood on the side of truth and due process,” he said.

He added that the emergence of the officially recognized result had now laid the matter to rest, stressing that the focus should shift from division to reconciliation and party unity ahead of future elections.

“Today, the truth has prevailed, and for us, that chapter is closed. Our focus now is not on division, but on unity, reconciliation, and the collective progress of our great party and constituency,” Gagdi added.

The federal lawmaker further congratulated fellow aspirants who participated in the primary election, describing democracy as a process that strengthens leadership and unity rather than creating enemies within the party.

“Democracy is not a war. It is a process that strengthens unity and leadership. There is truly no winner and no vanquished. We all belong to one APC family,” he stated.

Gagdi also appreciated youths, women, elders, stakeholders, campaign teams, and supporters who stood by him throughout the exercise, assuring them that their loyalty and sacrifices would never be forgotten.

“To every youth, women, elders, stakeholders, campaign team, and supporters who stood firmly with us throughout this journey, I say thank you. Your prayers, sacrifice, and loyalty will never be forgotten,” he said.

He urged party faithful and constituents to remain peaceful and committed to democratic values, while announcing plans to embark on a thank-you visit to party offices across Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam local government areas.
