Plateau United Football Club has suspended plans to modify its official logo following concerns raised by fans and other stakeholders.
The club’s Chairman, Alhassan Yakmut, said the decision followed consultations and due diligence, stressing that supporters are important stakeholders whose views must be considered in major decisions concerning the club.
According to the management, the proposed redesign was aimed at improving the club’s merchandising potential, creating new commercial opportunities and aligning Plateau United with global football branding trends.
However, the club said three proposed logo designs will now be presented to fans and other stakeholders for consideration before a final choice is made.
Management explained that the process is intended to ensure that the views of supporters are adequately reflected in any decision on the club’s identity.
Until a final decision is reached, the existing logo will remain Plateau United’s officially recognised emblem.
The club also apologised to its supporters and stakeholders for any inconvenience caused by the proposed change.
