NYSC Withholds Certificate Of Corper Raye Over Clearance Dispute
Corper Raye, whose real name is Ushie Rita Uguamaye, has been denied her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate after completing her service year in Lagos State. The denial, according to her, stems from an unresolved clearance issue in April.
Raye claims she was present on her assigned clearance date but was refused clearance by the Local Government Inspector (LGI) in Eti Osa, who allegedly seized her file and asked her to leave. She insists the situation was beyond her control and that she made genuine efforts to comply with the clearance process.
However, NYSC officials maintain that Raye failed to complete the required clearance for that month.
Raye previously attracted public attention for her outspoken criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration and for describing Lagos as a “smelling state.”
Despite the setback, she says she is choosing to move on, describing her NYSC experience in Lagos as “a waste of my time.”
