PlaPoly Innovation Hub Opens Its Doors to Tech Innovators and Creators
Plateau State Polytechnic today celebrated the grand opening of the PlaPoly Innovation Hub, a modern space designed to nurture creativity, practical learning, and technological innovation across the state.
The event drew students, tech enthusiasts, and members of the broader tech community, all eager to explore what promises to be a central hub for digital skill development and innovation.
The PlaPoly Innovation Hub is envisioned as a safe space for developers, students, and tech enthusiasts to explore emerging technologies, gain practical experience, and collaborate on projects.
In an interview, Mr. Dinfa Dashie, Project Manager of the Digital Inclusion Project at Plateau State Polytechnic and founder of Web3 Alliance Limited, said:
“The Innovation Lab is a safe space for developers and tech enthusiasts to come around and learn about emerging technologies. We offer courses in artificial intelligence, software development, hardware maintenance, blockchain technology, and more. Anyone interested in tech can come here, sign up for courses, or even just use the space as a workspace.”
Although hosted within Plateau State Polytechnic, the hub is open to everyone, including local developers, tech enthusiasts, and creatives. Beyond structured courses, the facility can also accommodate tech-focused events, providing a platform for collaboration and networking.
Mr. Dashie explained that the choice of the polytechnic was deliberate:
“Polytechnics are meant to be technical schools where practical knowledge thrives. This is where hands-on learning should happen first.”
The hub was also born from the need to address a gap in mentorship and guidance for aspiring tech professionals, many of whom start their journey alone. According to Mr. Dashie, spaces like the PlaPoly Innovation Hub help overcome challenges like impostor syndrome by giving learners practical support, mentorship, and a community to grow with.
The message to Plateau’s tech community is clear:
