Senator I D Gyang Mobilises APC Members in Plateau North, Calls for Massive E Registration Ahead of 2027

Former Senator I D Gyang, who represented Plateau North in the 9th National Assembly, has begun wide consultations with leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress APC in Plateau State as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.

Over the weekend, Senator Gyang visited Jos South and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas where he met with party stakeholders and encouraged them to take the ongoing APC e registration exercise seriously. He described the exercise as very important to the future of the party, noting that a strong membership base is key to winning elections.

Speaking to party leaders in Jos South, Senator Gyang said e registration is the foundation for building a united and stronger APC ahead of 2027. He urged leaders at ward and local government levels to mobilise members and ensure wide participation. He also praised APC leaders in Jos South and Barkin Ladi for their commitment and sacrifices, saying their efforts have helped to grow the party in Plateau State.

During the meeting, Senator Gyang officially informed the Jos South APC stakeholders, led by their chairman Da Fidelis Dadieng, of his intention to contest for the Plateau North senatorial ticket of the party in 2027. He assured them that if given the opportunity, he would use his experience in the National Assembly to deliver more effective and people focused representation.

According to him, Plateau State remains a strong base for the APC and the party is well positioned to win the presidency and other elective offices in the 2027 elections.

Responding on behalf of the Jos South stakeholders, Da Fidelis Dadieng commended Senator Gyang for the visit and described his ambition as timely and well deserved, considering his record of performance. He noted that Senator Gyang’s entry into the APC has continued to attract new members and assured him of their prayers and support.

Other party leaders including former Jos South Local Government Chairman Hon Gideon Dangdareng, former Commissioner for Works Hon Pam Dongs and Ngo Sarah Dalyop described Senator Gyang as a seasoned technocrat and an outstanding lawmaker who understands governance and representation.

At the APC Secretariat in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Senator Gyang was received with excitement as party executives and ward chairmen described his visit as a homecoming. Welcoming him, the APC local government chairman Hon Stephen Haruna praised Senator Gyang as a leader with capacity, credibility and genuine concern for the welfare of the people.

Also speaking, the APC Youth Leader in Barkin Ladi Hon Chun Pam Shut said Senator Gyang has become widely known for effective representation and therefore deserves the support and encouragement of party members.

Across Jos South and Barkin Ladi, Senator Gyang received a warm reception marked by goodwill and positive remarks, reflecting his growing acceptance within the APC as the party steps up preparations for the 2027 election.
