National Convention: Lagos airport ‘disrupted’ as APC members travel to Abuja

The local wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, experienced major disruptions on Friday as members of the Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, traveled to Abuja ahead of the party’s National Convention.

The convention, scheduled for Friday, March 27, and Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Eagles Square, is expected to host over 8,000 delegates, including President Bola Tinubu and members of his cabinet.

APC members from Lagos were seen arriving at the airport in coordinated Ankara attire from as early as 6:00 am.

Prominent figures among the group include former Senate Minority Whip and Governance Advisory Council, GAC, member, Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, elder statesman and GAC member, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, as well as several other notable party leaders.
