War: Iran destroys $700m US spy plane at Saudi air base

Iran has struck a United States Air Force plane, valued at $700 million, at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia.

The attack which occurred on Saturday, destroyed a US E-3 AWACS and injured 12 US soldiers.

DAILY POST reports that the E-3 AWACS is a flying radar and airborne command hub tracking threats and directing US air operations.

According to Fox News, two of the injured Americans were listed in serious condition, while the rest were considered lightly injured.

Fox News reports that at least one KC135 air refueling plane was hit and reportedly caught fire as a result of the strike on Saturday.

It added that a regional source said the attack involved both Iranian ballistic missiles and drones.

The war between the United States and Iran which resulted in the killing of the Iranian Supreme Leader and others, has lasted a month.
