The Plateau State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed condolences to victims of the recent attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, which left several persons dead and others injured.
In a press statement issued on March 30, 2026, and signed by the State Assistant Secretary, Wumanna Bako, the party described the incident in Gari Ya Waye community as tragic and painful, noting that it has plunged not only affected families but the entire Plateau community into mourning.
The party said it stands in solidarity with the victims and prayed for the speedy recovery of those currently receiving medical treatment.
The APC also commended Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for his swift visit to the affected community and efforts made so far to restore calm and address the security situation.
While calling for justice, the party urged residents across Plateau State to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding, warning against reprisals or actions that could escalate tensions.
“Plateau has suffered too many cycles of violence in the past, and we must not allow grief and anger to lead to further loss of innocent lives,” the statement noted.
The party further called on security agencies to intensify efforts in apprehending those responsible for the attack and ensuring they are brought to justice.
It also appealed to community leaders, youth groups, religious leaders, and other stakeholders to promote peace, unity, and restraint during this difficult period.
The APC emphasized that sustained peace remains essential for the progress and stability of Plateau State.
