A member of the Plateau State House of Assembly representing Jos North-North Constituency, Adamu Aliyu, has strongly condemned the recent killing of residents in Angwan Rukuba community of Jos North.

In a statement issued on March 30, 2026, the lawmaker described the attack, which occurred at Gari Ya Waye community, as “barbaric, senseless, and unprovoked,” noting that it claimed several lives and left many others injured.

Aliyu expressed deep sympathy to the families of the victims and wished those injured a speedy recovery, while praying for the repose of the deceased.

He called on security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Army, to launch a thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that those responsible are apprehended and prosecuted without delay.

“We cannot allow this cycle of violence and bloodshed to continue. Security agencies must act swiftly and decisively to bring the perpetrators to justice,” he stated.

The lawmaker also appealed to residents of Jos North to remain calm and law-abiding, urging youths in particular to avoid reprisals or any actions that could further escalate tensions.

He emphasized that taking the law into one’s hands would only worsen the situation, stressing the need for cooperation with security agencies to restore peace.

Aliyu further commended the Plateau State Government for the prompt imposition of a 48-hour curfew in Jos North, describing it as a necessary step to restore order and prevent further breakdown of law and order.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the safety and welfare of his constituents, pledging continued engagement with relevant authorities to strengthen security and promote lasting peace in the area.
