There was panic on Wednesday in Jos, capital of Plateau State, just hours after the state government relaxed the 48-hour curfew imposed following the deadly Sunday night attack in Anguwan Rukuba.

According to Channels Television, sporadic violence broke out in parts of the city, with unconfirmed reports of fresh casualties.

The situation reportedly triggered fear among residents, forcing traders who had earlier resumed business activities to shut down and flee to safety.

Security presence has since increased in affected areas, although authorities are yet to officially confirm the latest developments.

The curfew was initially imposed to restore calm after the earlier killings, but the renewed unrest has heightened concerns over the fragile security situation in the state.
