Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone, has named the three best teams in Europe.
Simeone spoke at his post-match interview after guiding Atletico Madrid to a stunning Champions League quarter-final first-leg 2-0 victory over Barcelona at Camp Nou on Wednesday.
After the final whistle, the Argentine singled out three sides as the continent’s very best: Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich.
Reflecting on the historic win secured by goals from Julian Alvarez and Alexander Sørloth, Simeone acknowledged the rarity of the result, saying, “I don’t think my Atletico had ever won here at Camp Nou. It’s an incredibly difficult place to come.
“Barcelona are arguably the best team in Europe, along with Paris and Bayern. Through good teamwork, we were able to capitalise on key moments in the match.”
