Former Plateau State Governor, Joshua Chibi Dariye, has expressed deep concern over reports of students of the University of Jos allegedly going missing amid growing insecurity.

The former governor called on the Plateau State Government to urgently engage the Vice-Chancellor of the institution to address the situation and ensure the safety of students.

Speaking via his Facebook page, Dariye stressed that the protection of students must be treated as a top priority, especially during academic activities such as examinations.

“The safety of students must always come first. The Plateau State Government should urgently engage the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos over reports of students going missing because of the so-called examination.”

He further emphasized the need for transparency and accountability, urging authorities to carry out a proper investigation into the reports and implement measures to prevent future occurrences.

“There is a need for transparency, proper investigation, and immediate measures to ensure that no student is put at risk in the course of their education. Lives matter more than any examination.”
