A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general elections, Sunday Garba Biggs, has formally resigned his membership from the party.
In a resignation letter dated April 21, 2025, and addressed to the APC Chairman of Mangu Ward II in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, Biggs said his decision takes immediate effect.
“I write to formally tender my resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC), effective immediately,” he stated.
Biggs noted that his decision was not made lightly, explaining that he had remained a committed and active member of the party for over four years.
“This decision was not taken lightly, having been a committed and active member of the party for over four years. During this period, I had the privilege of serving the party in various capacities, including offering myself as a gubernatorial aspirant in 2022,” he said.
He added that his contributions were aimed at advancing the party’s ideals and strengthening its structures across Plateau State.
However, the former aspirant said recent political developments influenced his decision to take a new direction.
“However, in view of the current political realignments across the country and after deep personal reflection, I have resolved to take a different path in pursuit of my political aspirations,” Biggs explained.
Despite his exit, he expressed appreciation to the party leadership and members for their support during his time in the APC.
“I remain grateful for the opportunities, support, and relationships I built during my time in the party. I deeply appreciate the cooperation of leaders, stakeholders, and fellow members,” he added.
Biggs also wished the party success in its future engagements and contributions to Nigeria’s democratic development.
His resignation marks a significant political shift in Mangu LGA, as observers anticipate his next political move ahead of future elections.
