Aspirant for the Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Kachollom Pyam Gang, has withdrawn from the race after consultations with key stakeholders across Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Areas.
Dr. Gang announced her decision while addressing supporters and members of her campaign team at her residence in Jos.
She said the meeting was convened to formally notify her Campaign team that she would no longer continue with her campaign for the House of Representatives seat based on superior advice.
“I called this gathering to inform my supporters and campaign team that I will no longer be contesting for the House of Representative seat,” she stated. While giving reasons that led to her withdrawal from the race, she called on her team of coordinators to remain resolute, united and accept in good faith the painful and difficult decision she had to make for peace to reign.
According to her, the decision followed extensive consultations with elders, political leaders, and other relevant stakeholders within the constituency.
“After wide consultations, I have accepted the outcome in good faith and decided to step aside for the interest of unity,” she said.
Dr. Gang urged her supporters to remain calm, loyal, and committed to the ideals that brought them together during the course of her campaign.
“I want all those who worked with me to remain as one team because we have come a long way,” she added.The APC aspirant expressed gratitude to her supporters for their dedication, encouragement, and confidence in her leadership throughout the period of her campaign. She maintained that leadership opportunities are destined by God and encouraged her followers to remain hopeful and steadfast.
Dr Gang maintained that Man may propose, but it is God that disposes. Her believe is that it is God who gives power at His own time and will always open other doors of service at the right time.
Dr. Gang reaffirmed her dedication to serving the people of Plateau State in whatever capacity, expressing confidence that the future still holds greater opportunities for collective development.
