The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Bernard M. Doro, on Monday visited communities affected by recent attacks in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The visit was aimed at commiserating with families who lost loved ones and showing solidarity with survivors and residents affected by the violence.

Speaking during the visit, Doro described the pain and grief in the affected communities as profound.

He stressed that no society should be subjected to repeated cycles of violence and displacement.

According to the minister, the visit was not only to convey condolences but also to reassure victims of the government’s commitment to humanitarian support.

“At moments like this, compassion, unity, and collective responsibility become even more important as we work together to protect lives and strengthen vulnerable communities,” he said.

Doro further assured residents that the Federal Government would continue efforts to restore peace and stability in the area.

He added that the government would also work with relevant agencies to address humanitarian challenges arising from the attacks.
