The Plateau State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned residents and party supporters against believing unofficial results from the ongoing party primary elections circulating on social media platforms.
The warning was issued by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Wumana Bako, during a telephone interview with journalists in Jos.
Bako described the trending results and announcements as false and misleading, attributing them to overzealous supporters of some aspirants seeking to create unnecessary tension within the party.
According to him, the APC primary elections currently taking place across the country are being supervised by committees deployed from the party’s National Secretariat to ensure transparency and credibility in the process.
He explained that only the official committee sent by the National Secretariat has the authority to announce the authentic results of the primaries after the completion of proper collation.
“Only the committee from the National Secretariat has the authority to announce the results of each federal constituency, and this will be done officially at the Plateau State APC Secretariat in Jos,” he stated.
The APC spokesperson further disclosed that collation officers had been deployed to different local government areas to oversee the exercise and would return to Jos for the final collation and declaration of winners.
Bako urged party members, supporters, and the general public to remain calm and patient while awaiting the official announcement of results from the appropriate authorities.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the party to conducting a transparent and credible primary election process across Plateau State.
