Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, Member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has commenced a thank-you tour across the constituency following his victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.
The lawmaker, who emerged victorious in the keenly contested primary, said the visit was aimed at appreciating party faithful, supporters, and stakeholders across the 36 wards for their support, loyalty, and peaceful conduct during the exercise.
Speaking during the tour, Gagdi expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and commended members of the APC for what he described as overwhelming confidence in his leadership and representation.
He noted that the primary election reflected the unity and political maturity of party members within the constituency, stressing that the outcome was a victory for democracy and due process.
“I sincerely appreciate the APC family across Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam for the massive support, peaceful participation, and confidence reposed in me throughout the primary election,” he said.
The federal lawmaker explained that returning to the people after every election has remained part of his political culture, adding that leadership must always be rooted in gratitude and constant engagement with constituents.
“This is not the first election I have contested. I believe it is important to always return to the people and say thank you because they are the foundation of every political success,” Gagdi stated.
He further maintained that despite the controversies that trailed the primary election, he deliberately chose the path of restraint and maturity, insisting that truth and due process eventually prevailed.
According to him, he remained focused throughout the process and refused to join issues with individuals spreading misinformation and propaganda on social media.
“I heard many things during the process, especially on social media, but I decided to remain calm because propaganda cannot replace truth. The people and the process have already spoken,” he added.
Gagdi also reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots politics, saying his continued acceptance across the constituency was a reflection of his close relationship with the people and years of accessible leadership.
The lawmaker urged party members, supporters, and former opponents to unite for the overall progress of the constituency and the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He stressed that politics should not be driven by bitterness or personal interests, but by collective responsibility toward development and good governance.
“Politics is about inclusion and service. I call on everyone, including those who contested against us, to join hands together so we can continue to move Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam forward,” he said.
Gagdi assured constituents that he remains committed to quality representation, promising to sustain efforts toward infrastructure development, empowerment programmes, education, healthcare delivery, and youth support initiatives across the constituency.
Meanwhile, traditional rulers, party leaders, and supporters who received the lawmaker during the visits commended him for maintaining close ties with the grassroots and prayed for continued peace, unity, and progress within the constituency.
