Iran has walked away from ceasefire talks aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran’s state-affiliated outlet Tasnim News Agency said this on Monday, accusing US President Donald Trump of ceasefire violations.
The Islamic Republic also revealed that it would move to close the Strait of Hormuz and stop exchanging messages with the US through intermediaries.
The report pointed to Israel’s military operations in Lebanon against the Iranian-backed militia Hezbollah as a violation of the ceasefire with the United States.
According the the report, an Israeli ceasefire in Lebanon is a precondition for the ceasefire between Iran and the US and that the ceasefire has now been violated on all fronts.
In a post on X, Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, said Lebanon is included in the ceasefire with the US and that any violation on one front shall be considered a violation of it across all fronts.
“The United States and Israel bear responsibility for the consequences of any breach of the truce,” Iran said.
