The brutal killing of seven innocent people in the Kuru mining community is devastating and unacceptable. I extend my deepest sympathy to the families of the victims and to the entire community mourning this painful loss.

This attack was not accidental or isolated. It reflects ongoing violence targeting Middle-Belt communities, and it must be openly condemned. The tragedy in Kuru once again shows the urgent need for stronger security and a collective resolve to end the bloodshed that has affected our people for too long.

I appreciate the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, for his swift action, which helped calm the situation and prevent further violence. His commitment to peace and the safety of all residents of Plateau State continues to give hope.

I call on the security agencies to carry out a thorough investigation and ensure that those behind this attack are identified and brought to justice. The government remains determined to protect lives and property and will not relent until peace is fully restored.

I also appeal to the affected communities to stay calm, vigilant, and united. While defending our lands is important, we must avoid taking the law into our own hands and instead work closely with security agencies to prevent further attacks.

This is a time for unity and solidarity. Violence has no place in our society, and together we can build a safer and more peaceful future for the Middle-Belt and beyond.
