Ibrahim Baba Hassan Condemns Jos North Killings, Calls for Justice – Matthew Tegha Blog

The Special Adviser on Political Strategy and Intelligence to the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Ibrahim Baba Hassan, has condemned the killing of residents in Angwan Rukuba community of Jos North.

In a statement issued on March 30, 2026, Hassan described the attack at Gari Ya Waye as tragic, senseless, and a grave affront to humanity, stressing that the sanctity of human life must be upheld at all times.

He expressed sympathy to the families of the victims and those affected by the incident, praying for the repose of the deceased and speedy recovery of the injured.

The adviser noted that the attack has heightened tension in the community, highlighting the urgent need for humanitarian support and strengthened security measures.

He called on security agencies to intensify efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible, emphasizing that justice must be served to prevent further occurrences.

Hassan also commended the Plateau State Government and security agencies for their swift response to the crisis and efforts to restore calm in the area.

He urged residents of Jos North to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding, cautioning against reprisals that could further escalate tensions.

The Special Adviser stressed the importance of unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, noting that lasting peace can only be achieved through collective responsibility.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peacebuilding, intelligence-driven conflict prevention, and effective humanitarian response in Plateau State.
