Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, on Sunday marked three years in office with a thanksgiving service, where he reflected on the challenges faced by his administration and celebrated achievements recorded across different sectors of the state.

The thanksgiving service, held at the COCIN Headquarters Church in Jos, brought together former governors, serving and former lawmakers, ministers, traditional rulers, religious leaders, political stakeholders, and supporters from across Plateau State.

Speaking during the service, Governor Mutfwang thanked God for His faithfulness, protection, and guidance throughout his journey in office. He recalled the 2023 elections, the legal battles that followed, and the security challenges confronting the state.

“Through it all, I have learned to trust in Jesus; I have learned to trust in God. Through it all, I have learned to depend upon His Word,” the governor said.

He noted that despite the difficulties, his administration has remained focused on delivering good governance and improving the lives of the people.

Governor Mutfwang highlighted some of the achievements recorded in the last three years, including the payment of over ₦16 billion in pensions and gratuities and more than ₦4 billion in medical assistance to vulnerable citizens.

“When I saw women dancing after water returned to communities that had gone nearly twenty years without public water supply, I shed tears. These are the images that push me on,” he stated.

The governor said his administration has also made significant investments in healthcare, education, agriculture, transportation, tourism, water supply, and peacebuilding initiatives aimed at promoting development and unity across the state.

He reaffirmed his commitment to protecting Plateau’s heritage and ensuring that the people continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy. He also called on citizens to remain united and support efforts to build a peaceful and prosperous state.

The governor expressed appreciation to the people of Plateau State for their support and confidence in his administration, especially during the period leading to the Supreme Court judgment that affirmed his election victory.

Speaking on behalf of former governors, retired Rear Admiral Bitrus Atukum commended Governor Mutfwang for his dedication and commitment to transforming the state. He urged citizens to continue supporting and praying for the administration.

In her remarks, Deputy Governor Ngo Josephine Piyo thanked God for the administration’s three-year journey and highlighted achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, education, water supply, and youth empowerment.

The sermon, delivered by the Plateau State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Dunka Gomwalk, focused on thanksgiving and unity. He urged citizens to remain grateful to God and work together to promote peace, security, and development in Plateau State.

Special prayers were offered for the governor, the government, and the people of Plateau State, with religious leaders calling for lasting peace, unity, and continued progress across the state.
