BEWDA Releases Timetable for 2025 National Congress and Elections
The Berom Women Development Association (BEWDA) has released the official timetable for its 2025 National Congress and General Elections, with the election scheduled for July 5, 2025. The announcement was made by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee (ELCOM), Hon. Pastor Gabriel Pam, who encouraged Berom women worldwide to actively participate in the democratic process.
According to ELCOM, the electoral process began on June 1 with the release of nomination forms and a sensitization campaign targeting district leaders. This initial phase will be followed by district registration, submission of nomination forms, and candidate screening, which will run from June 8 to June 18.
From June 19 to 21, BEWDA will publish the list of screened and qualified candidates. Disqualified aspirants will have the opportunity to submit objections or appeals during this window.
The final list of cleared candidates will be released between June 22 and 24, paving the way for the official campaign period, which will run from June 25 to July 4 across all BEWDA districts and branches.
“July 5 remains the election day for voting, collation, and announcement of results. We urge all candidates and members to comply with the timetable and conduct themselves peacefully throughout the process,” said Hon. Pastor Gabriel Pam.
BEWDA is a voluntary, democratic organization that brings together Berom women across the globe. Its mission focuses on peacebuilding, unity, welfare, and the empowerment of women in Beromland and beyond. The association has made significant contributions in the areas of education, cultural preservation, and support for vulnerable groups, including women, children, and youth.
BEWDA also works in partnership with government bodies and traditional institutions to foster development and lasting peace in the community.
The upcoming election is expected to uphold the association’s core values of transparency, inclusiveness, and grassroots leadership as Berom women prepare to elect a new set of national executives.
