Rep. Ilhan Omar spoke out against President Donald Trump’s actions in Iran, calling them illegal and unjustified.

She said he is dragging the US into war without Congress’s approval, without a clear plan, and without any direct threat to the country.

“This is a reckless use of power that endangers both civilians and American soldiers in a conflict people don’t want,” Omar said on her X handle.

Having survived war herself, she added, “Bombs do not bring peace or stability. Military strikes make us less safe and increase chaos. Ignoring diplomacy leads only to destruction.”

Omar warned that innocent civilians and young service members would suffer the most.
“Children and families are already paying with their lives. There is no reason, morally or strategically for this bloodshed,” she said.

She urged Congress to take action: “Americans are tired of endless wars. Congress must use its power and vote on the War Powers resolution by Reps Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie. This unlawful war must stop now.”
