NPFL: Rivers United suffer another title blow, Abia Warriors triumph at home

Rivers United suffered another blow in their title bid following a 4-1 defeat to Nasarawa United in Lafia on Monday.

The hosts scored twice in the opening five minutes through Ngei Oluka-Efor and Abubakar Abdullahi.

Chimezie Victor added the third in the 15th minute, while Taiwo Abdulrafiu reduced the deficit for Rivers United nine minutes later.

JoFrank Istifanus netted the fourth for Nasarawa United in the 58th minute.

Rivers United remain in second position on the table with 52 points, while Nasarawa United move to third position with 50 points.

At the Umuahia Township Stadium, Abia Warriors defeated Niger Tornadoes 2-1.

Suraju Lawal, and Casmir Azubuike were on target for Abia Warriors, while Joseph Godfrey scored for Tornadoes.
