Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has insisted that he remains the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers despite the reported takeover of the union’s national secretariat.

In a statement shared on his Instagram page on Monday, MC Oluomo described the development led by Tajudeen Baruwa as a “forceful takeover,” maintaining that due legal processes are still ongoing.

Baruwa had earlier cited court rulings allegedly in his favour to justify the move.

However, MC Oluomo clarified that he was not a defendant in the said judgment and noted that the ruling has been appealed, with a stay of execution already in place.

“The National President wishes to intimate members of the union and the general public that he was not a defendant in the purported judgment. The judgment has been appealed, and a stay of execution has been duly entered,” the statement read.

He added that he has not engaged with Baruwa or any other party involved, given that the matter remains before the courts.

MC Oluomo further stated that the situation is being handled by security agencies, reaffirming his position as the legitimate leader of the union.
