Iran has slammed U.S. President Donald Trump, calling his claim that an Arab country asked for a ceasefire as ‘false and without any real basis.’
The US leader has kept saying that Iran wants to end the war right now and is willing to agree to a ceasefire.
While Trump has claimed that negotiations are proceeding smoothly with Iranian authorities, the Islamic country has stated that no negotiations are currently taking place.
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, said Trump’s statement that Iran asked for a ceasefire is “false and baseless,” as reported by Iranian state television.
Iran’s military group, the Revolutionary Guard, released a separate statement claiming that the Strait of Hormuz is “fully and clearly under their control,” according to AP.
It also said that “this strait will not be open to the enemies of this country because of the silly show put on by the U.S. president.”
