Newcastle legend, Alan Shearer, has claimed it would be “incredibly tough” for Arsenal to win the Premier League, following their 2-1 defeat to Southampton in the FA Cup quarter-final.
The Saints went in front, thanks to Ross Stewart, before substitute Viktor Gyokeres equalized at St Mary’s.
But Shea Charles came off the bench to net the winner in the 85th minute.
Arsenal still have two trophies to play for – the Premier League and Champions League.
In the league, they sit nine points clear of Manchester City, with seven games left.
Shearer has now questioned the “mental” impact losing to Southampton will have on Mikel Arteta’s men and their title aspirations.
He told Betfair: “After Arsenal got knocked out of the FA Cup, it will be incredibly tough for them, mentally, to go on and achieve what they want to achieve.”
