Troops arrest suspected terrorist doctor in Zamfara

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have arrested a suspected terrorist medical practitioner during a raid in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The development was made known in a post shared on X on Tuesday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

According to the post, the operation was carried out in the early hours of Monday following intelligence reports about a facility allegedly being used to support terrorist activities in Bilbis community.

Troops from the Headquarters Operation Fansan Yamma Monitoring and Surveillance Team, working alongside the 1 Brigade Quick Response Force, stormed the location and arrested the suspect, said to be a doctor operating from a residence that also served as a chemist shop.

Further search of the area led to the discovery of a suspected terrorist hideout and a motorcycle, which troops destroyed during the operation.

The suspect is currently in custody and undergoing investigation.

Security sources added that operations in the area are still ongoing as troops continue efforts to dismantle terrorist networks in the state.
