A delegation of youth leaders from the Jos-North/Bassa Federal Constituency has visited Mr. John Gamasaura Katura at his Abuja residence, declaring support for the zoning of the House of Representatives seat to Jos-North and its micro-zoning to the Anaguta nation. The solidarity visit took place on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, and brought together representatives of all indigenous tribes in the constituency.
The group, led by Pastor Julius S. Rabo and represented by Mr. Ezekiel Joseph Zi, said the visit was meant to express gratitude for Katura’s contributions to youth development and unity across Plateau North. They described the engagement as a demonstration of shared purpose and collective aspiration for the constituency.
Central to the discussions was the call for justice and equity in political representation. The youth leaders restated their position that the Federal House of Representatives seat for Jos-North/Bassa should be zoned to Jos-North and further allocated to the Anaguta nation to ensure fair rotation of leadership and give every community a sense of belonging.
They commended Katura for his consistent advocacy for fairness and his role as a stabilizing figure in youth politics. The delegation said his leadership reflects the principles needed to sustain peace and foster inclusive development in the constituency.
Responding, Katura thanked the delegation for the visit and for recognizing his efforts in empowering young people and promoting unity across tribes and religions. He said their support was both humbling and motivating, reinforcing his commitment to accountable and people-centered leadership.
As Managing Director/CEO of Jokatu Property Development Ltd, Patron of the Plateau Youth Council for Plateau North Senatorial District, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Anaguta Youth Development and Cultural Association, Katura urged the youth to reject social vices and political thuggery. He stressed that the constituency’s progress depends on discipline, intellect, and unity.
“A united family always stands strong,” he stated, noting that the youth’s resolve to work across tribal lines provides a solid foundation for building a stronger and more prosperous constituency. He pledged to sustain his support for initiatives that promote peace and development.
The delegation, in turn, affirmed Katura as a key pillar for the youth of Plateau North and pledged continued collaboration with him to advance the interests of the constituency. They said his guidance remains vital for achieving fair representation and sustainable growth.
