The APC Plateau North Unity Forum has endorsed Professor Danladi Abok Atu as its preferred candidate for the Plateau North Senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was announced during a press briefing delivered by Da Timothy Choji Kim on behalf of the Forum, where stakeholders and community leaders gathered.

“This gathering is not merely to make a political statement, but to reaffirm a vision rooted in shared humanity and collective progress,” Kim stated.

He explained that the Forum comprises diverse individuals from all six Local Government Areas of Plateau North, reflecting the zone’s ethnic and social diversity.

“After careful scrutiny, the Forum is of the view that Plateau North has been grossly underrepresented, leading to underdevelopment,” he said.

He noted that disunity among ethnic and religious groups has worsened the situation in the zone.

“Such underdevelopment stems largely from a lack of unity, with religion and cultural differences deepening the divide,” Kim added.

According to him, the Forum was formed to bridge these divides and promote inclusiveness.

“Our motto, ‘Our Diversity, Our Strength,’ is a framework for sustainable development and unity,” he said.

He stressed the need for a leader who can provide impactful and transformative representation.

“There is a compelling need for leadership that is tested, resilient, and committed to the common good,” Kim noted.

Kim emphasized that leadership must be built on intellectual strength and moral values.

“Leadership demands academic depth, ethical grounding, and the discipline to deliver meaningful results,” he stated.

He said the Forum carefully evaluated potential candidates before arriving at its decision.

“After thorough consideration, we unanimously settled on Professor Danladi Abok Atu based on competence and credibility,” he declared.

Kim described Atu as a seasoned scholar and experienced public servant with a strong record in governance.

“His experience in leadership positions demonstrates his capacity to deliver effective representation,” he said.

He also highlighted Atu’s grassroots connection and commitment to unity.

“He is a bridge-builder whose dedication to peace and reconciliation makes him widely accepted,” Kim added.

The Forum expressed confidence in Atu’s integrity and ability to attract development to the zone.

“He stands out for his honesty, transparency, and capacity to bring investment and opportunities,” he noted.

Kim appreciated Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for their efforts in promoting unity.

“We call on all stakeholders to support this vision and work together for unity, progress, and shared prosperity,” he concluded.
