Nigeria’s Falconets defeated Malawi 2–0 in the first leg of their 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying fixture at the Remo Stars Stadium.

Moses Aduku’s side dominated the game in the first half but failed to convert their chances.

The Falconets took the lead one minute after the break, with Malawi’s Kenneth Maureen putting the ball into her own net.

Ifeanyi Kindness doubled Nigeria’s lead three minutes before the hour mark.

The second leg will hold on Saturday, May 9, at the Bingu National Stadium.

The winner over two legs will earn a berth at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
