Hon. Ishaya David Lalu has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) direct primary election for the Mangu/Bokkos House of Representatives seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Lalu, who currently represents the constituency in the House of Representatives, secured 33,290 votes in the just concluded primary election to clinch the party’s ticket for a second term bid.
The results were announced in Mangu by the returning officers for the exercise, Mr. Wumen Peter for Mangu and Mr. David Joseph for Bokkos Local Government Area.
According to the declared results, Dr. Elkanah polled 1,075 votes, while AVM Paul secured 2,115 votes. Another contestant, Titus, scored 1,427 votes in the exercise.
Lalu’s victory officially confirms him as the APC candidate for the Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections. His emergence followed participation by party members across the two local government areas.
Supporters of the various aspirants gathered at different collation points awaiting the official declaration of results, as the direct primary election recorded active participation from APC members in Mangu and Bokkos.
