The Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has extended humanitarian support to displaced members of a Muslim community affected by recent attacks in Plateau State.
The cleric donated food items, clothing, and financial assistance to victims, many of whom were reportedly displaced following violent attacks attributed to suspected Fulani assailants.
Rev. Dachomo said the outreach was driven by compassion and a shared sense of humanity, regardless of religious differences.
“Today with a heart both heavy and hopeful I Ezekiel Dachomo reached out to our brothers and sisters in Muslim communities who have been wounded and displaced,” he said.
He explained that beyond material support, his mission was to promote peace and unity during a time of deep division and suffering.
“I carried food items and relief materials but more than that I carried a message of love that even in the midst of darkness humanity must not lose its light,” he added.
The cleric described the visit as emotional, noting that the pain and resilience of the victims left a lasting impact on him.
“Seeing their pain their tears and their resilience broke me deeply yet it also reminded me that we are one people bound not by religion or tribe but by our shared humanity,” he stated.
He further emphasized the need for collective action to address suffering and rebuild trust among communities affected by violence.
“No one deserves to suffer like this No child should go hungry No mother should cry herself to sleep in fear,” Rev. Dachomo said.
He also appreciated individuals and groups who contributed to the relief effort, noting that their support made the intervention possible.
The beneficiaries, particularly women in the community, expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of genuine love and compassion beyond religious boundaries.
They offered prayers for the cleric, asking Allah to grant him long life, good health, and protection for his family, while commending his show of kindness and support during their time of need.
